My finished inchie grid

I kept looking at the grid and felt it was missing something. So I popped up a fan, and added the German Scrap border. I think it looks more defined now.

I want to thank those who have visited my blog. I hope you will become a follower and link me to your blog. I love to hear your comments about my work. It is so encouraging to know you like my art and that my blog is one you wish to link to. Please come again.

Monday's adventure

Spent the morning playing around with some inchies from ArtChix. Hope everyone had a creative weekend. I'm still working on trying to figure out how to get the best pictures from my camera. I have a Canon PowerShotSX100IS 10x optical zoom, 8.0 mega pixels. I think I should be able to take better pictures. I think it's the operator. hahahaa

Testing my camera

I seem to have trouble taking clear pictures. The top one is taken outside and seems to be better, but the next one was taken indoors with the macro on. That looks pretty blurry to me. I think I need lessons. hahaha

Her body is the Queen of Spades playing card, legs, arms and face are from ArtChix sheets, hat and shoes are rubber stamps from Character Constructions. She is also wearing her Glamour Girl button from ArtChix.

Wednesday's dolls

Time is standing still for this glamour girl. With a feather in your hat and her arms wrapped around herself..she is hanging on to life. Maybe she is getting older and worried about her beauty.

M is for Mermaid

I wanted to make a doll today, but I also wanted to try altering a letter. So I combined both and made this mermaid. I think she is cute. I might add some more blue to the letter but, I'm not sure yet.

Just have to share this box lid

Don't you just love this cover. It's old and it's off of a fortune telling game I found in my uncle's home when we were moving him to a retirement home. He had so much stuff. I'm sorry I sold all the cabinet photos. I could be making collage sheets now. I could kick myself. How many things have your thrown away in your life that you wish you had now for your art? But, my studio only has so much room for trash to treasures or is it treasures to trash?

Didn't create today

Found these alphabet cards on line somewhere and thought they were really cute. I've been saving them for something special. I'm sharing these with you because I didn't get to create today. I went to the Butterfly Farm today...and you wouldn't believe it, but I forgot to take my camera. I need to make some more dolls next week or my friend will be after me.

Sunday "White Wedding"

Sunday morning I was in tears..it was raining. I was thinking of all the preparations and work my sister put into this wedding. It was to be an outdoor wedding by the lake. It's a good thing the wedding tent could hold 100plus people. We picked up my mother and headed up to the lake for the 3:30pm wedding. It had poured buckets so the tent was under 3" of water. No one seemed to mind. The sun came out long enough for the ceremony and pictures. Then the thunder and lightening hit. Everyone scrambled to their seats and the meal was served. Most people took off their shoes and socks. My ss & bil had layed fresh grass so it was spongy but everyone enjoyed themselves. The wedding went through the night. After dinner and the toasts to the bride and groom, they showed life stories beamed on the roof of the tent. Midnight there was fireworks. Us oldies had gone home by then. They served a breakfast next morning which we didn't make. We had to head home early. The first picture is of our family, my brother, me, my mother, the bride and my sister. It was a wedding to remember.

Maxville Highland Games

Saturday morning we left Brookville, found a hotel in Cornwall for the weekend. Then we headed off to the Maxville Highland Games. People come from all over the world to these Scottish Games. It was hot and sunny. We walked around to took in all the sights and smells of games. We were there in time to see the mass bands from across Canada and the US. There were pipe, fiddle, highland dancing and other conpetitions going on all day long. From there we headed to Loch Garry to see how my sister was making out with the wedding set up.

Next Day

The next day we went to Fort Henry, an important fort during the War of 1812. It was an interesting point in history watching the solders re-enactment, plus seeing mascot David IXth (the billy goat). We left there and drove along Hwy #2 to Brockville. Brockville is also known as a 1000 Island City. We were heading to Cornwall but there was no available hotels on Friday, so we stayed in Brockville and had a lovely dinner is a local diner. Diners have great homecooked type meals.

Thursday's Dinner Cruise

My dh surprised me with a dinner and sunset cruise around the 1000 Islands. These Islands are at the top of the St. Lawrence River and we share these islands with our US cousins. The largest island being Wolfe Island. The dinner was first class. My dh had beef tenderloin and I had Black Pepper Salmon. Both served with fresh vegetables and pan roasted potatoes. The salad was fresh spring greens with a tasty dressing which I've forgotten the name for. The dessert was a layered chocolate cake with raspberries. The sunset was lovely and romantic. There was live entertainment with a guy singing 50s & 60s songs. He would dress up the part of the original singer of these songs, so it was hilarious. Good time had by all.

My vacation

We left last Thursday on my birthday for a little holiday plus attend my neice's wedding north of Cornwall. Here is a bouquet of the flowers my daughter sent me. She sent me a carnation for each year of my birthday. Can you guess how many flowers?
