The tortoise and the hare

Life is a race. We never seem to have the time to do the things that matter most. Do we have to race through time? Does it matter who wins? We are here to enjoy the journey. Instead of racing, take a walk, stop and help a fellow traveller. Paper & trim from stash, turtle stamp by Stampin'Up, rabbit by Magenta, Tim Holtz grungeboard flourish, and clock stamp(unknown).

Simply Zen

Playing with a simple Zentangle on an ATC. Love to doodle. Easy to do while you are watching tv. No science involved...just let your fingers to the walking. I don't start out with anything in mind. I just watch how it goes and follow it along. It's a great stress release. Give it a try.

Zentangle goes Zetti

This one is for Laura...she wanted Zentangle to collide with Zetti. Zentangles are alot of fun. If you like the funky, the unusual, the weird...then Zetti is cool...or like the kids say today...'sick'. hahahaa

Saturday night...

Well the weekends half over and what have I accomplished? I spend so much time with the group mail, adding swaps, deleting finished swaps, putting out fires and smoothing feathers. lol I had good intentions this week. I listed all the themes for the blog challenges and I was going to do them. Well, the next thing I know it's Friday night. I did manage 4 cards that I sent away to try out on a design team. Wish me luck. I was also going to try surprising my friend Laura with a doll this week...well that didn't happen either. Where has the time flown. August is half over. I hate to think of winter being around the corner, but I'm sure that those suffering in this heat are looking for cooler weather. I wonder if making Christmas cards would help? Have a creative weekend. Hope next week will be a more creative week. Enjoy the Journey.

First pages of my Asian Index Book gift

I received the most awesome Asian book in a swap from Lillian Mederak. She is a great artist. I just love what she does. Every page is so well composed and embellished. I just love the picture of the little children in school. This book I will treasure always.

Asian Index Book cont'd

Sorry you can't see the glass beads hanging on the bottom or the ivory beads strung on wire on the back pages. Just gorgeous. Thanks so much Lillian at http://canadianscraptramp.blogspot.com/

Bleach tag #2

It was fun painting with bleach. It's a good thing I'm not allergic to it. The stamp is from Stampin'Up. Stamped in SU craft ink and embossed with clear. If you haven't tried it, you should and see what you come up with.

My little mini book to tell a story

This is a little book was working on last week. There is lots of pockets for tags to put your thoughts on. I cute chipboard pages with my Big Shot and the Bigz Note Die. Then I decorated the pages with flowers and other embellishments.

My first Bleach Tag

I was playing around with bleach today. No not in my laundry but in my art studio. I made this little tag for a swap. I stamped the paper with black pigment ink and heat embossed with black embossing powder. Then I painted the bleach on the petals of the flowers, stems and leaves. Cut them all out and mounted them on a shipping tag that I stamped with distressed ink and also distressed the edges. I like the way it turned out.

Digital Art

I think you can either do it or not. I'm in the not catagory. I have PS E8 but all I can do is safe photos to it. The rest is all greek to me. I'm not computer savvy so I'm lucky that I can turn this beast on each day. I admire all and what they do with their digital art. I love the blog challenges, but I just can't compete with all the digital stuff now. It's way out of my league.

"Old World" Gothic Arch

I enjoyed doing this Gothic Arch. I wonder if my partner will like it. It's for a swap on the group.
