A new Old World layout

Here is my newest layout. The frame was first painted black, crackled, and then painted with a red, then over painted again with a plum colour. I just happened to have some gold leaf on the table so I stuck that down here and there on the frame. Not sure if I like that or not. Maybe it gives it the old world touch. The papers used are from Graphic 45 Renaissance Faire collection. Now these paper do all the work. Elements were cut and layered to give it the 3d look. Flowers are from Prima, but some were sprayed with Tattered Angels Glimmer Mists. The photo is of...guess who?

My newest creation

Here is the front cover and a couple of pages. Most of the papers come from the Mariposa Collection. The blank envelope book is by Graphic 45. Tissue Tape and other embellishments by Tim Holtz. Flowers cut using TH tattered flowers die and misted with Tattered Angels Glimmer Mists. Throughout the book are Prima flowers, assorted butterfly stickers, vintage lace, and other trims. It doesn't close well, so I will be using an black elastic belly band.

Once Upon a Springtime Graphic 45

Had the wooden book piece for years with the intention of painting it. When I picked up the Graphic 45 Once Upon a Springtime collection I just had to do something with it and decided to use the book. I painted the book Delta Timberline green acrylic paint and slip slapped some ivory into the paint to tone it down. I painted the sides gold. Then the fun began deciding where and what to cut from the papers. Flowers are Prima and lace from stash. I hope you like it.

Grow Where You are Planted

I created this 9.5"x5" card using the Vintage Flower Seeds collage sheet from Altered Pages. Selected printed papers from Stampin'Up. Flower is from the Dollar Store which I took apart and added a brad to the center. 3 red buttons from stash.
I cut out the roses, lily, label and lady from the collage sheet and mounted on the the cardstock sheet using Pop Up Dots for a 3-d look. This card would look great framed or mounted on a distressed or painted long canvas.

Spring Tag...not so spring colours

Had fun with Tim Holtz stains on the background. Little butterflies stamped on the background and Tim Holtz stamp sentament.

Birdcage tags

It was fun using Tim Holtz birdcage die cuts to make these tags. I heat embossed the tags and added some crackle but that didn't show up. I coloured the ball chain with Alcohol ink...worked like a charm. Enjoy

Mini Album Graphic 45 inspired

Here is my matching mini album that was suppose to fit in the box. I didn't allow for the rings so now it's too big. I will just have to make another one. It was a fun project. All papers are by Graphic 45. Most of the flowers used are Prima that have been Glimmer Misted (Tattered Angels) and some are handmade using Tim Holtz Tattered Florals die. Ribbons, lace, and fibers from stash.

Dress her up Marie

Made this dress for a swap on Art For the Creative Mind Yahoogroup. We are doing a monthly apparel swap. In January we did Slippers, in February a top hat, and March is the dress fit for Marie Antoinette. I covered some chipboard with pink cardstock by Stampin'Up and stamps flourishes on it, altough you can't really see it. Then I sewed lace and tulle together and layered it on the dress. It was fun to do. I hope my partner likes it.

12 X 12 Canvas #2 For You Mom

I made this one today for my mother. This is a picture of her around 1943. Again I'm using Graphic 45 paper, flowers sprayed with Coffee Glimmer mist, gears by Tim Holtz and Sticklers. Edges with distress with Vintage Photo ink. I hope you like this one.

Graphic 45 Altered Canvas

My first 12 x 12 Altered Canvas using Graphic 45 Steampunk Debutante collection. The canvas was first painted black/brown using acrylic paint. When dried I sprayed it Tattered Angels Glimmer Mist (Gold) in the corners where the paper was torn away. You can't really see it in the picture and with the embellishments. I could have left that out with no change in the look. From there I just went ahead and glued the papers and embellishments down using Gel Medium. I had layed out the canvas in different ways before settling with this one. Once I got started gluing down the first piece for the background..it all just came together. I used the T!m Holtz gear die to cut some gears and distressed them with Vintage Photo and Soot Black. Flowers are from stash and I Glimmer Misted those a little too and added a little Stickles here and there. The pearls are from Stampin'Up and the gears from T!m Holtz. Voila!!

Journal Cover

A friend asked me to make a journal cover for her. She picked out the picture and papers she wanted and I did the rest plus added the embellishments and this is what we came up with. I love the way it turned out...so feminine.
