Group ATC swap - Corset

This is a fun ATC swap. The theme was April in Paris on a corset shape. Think French, think sensuous...a little fantasy.

Sorry Fellow bloggers

I've been goofing off because I acquired a head cold and was feeling poorly for a few days, now it's gone down into my chest and I really don't feel like doing much yet. I hope next week will be a productive week. I will try to get back into the blog challenges. I'm really sorry I missed them this week again.

altered book continued

I found a picture of an old cover from the 1911 edition of The Secret Garden so I put it in the inside cover of the book. The story begins with Mary Lennox growing up in India and loosing her parents to cholera. From there she is sent to live with her uncle in England who has problems of his own. Story continues....

My Secret Garden Book

I've started my book cover for the collaborated book round robin challenge. My theme is My Secret Garden. As a child this book was my all time favourite. I have several editions of the book, and the more recent video. This is where I am so far on the front cover. It's still in progress I think. Any suggestions of what more I can add? It sits on my table and as I go by I keep adding something else. I haven't received all my pages yet, but I will also add a few of my own. It's my first collaborated altered book. Looking forward to seeing everyone's book in the group and how they all turn out.
The lock plate is grungeboard painted to look rusty. The knob is a copper colour button, paper from garden magazines, and assorted butterfly stickers from stash.

Field of Dreams

I love working with the scraps on my table. It's like painting with a limited palette. There are days I just play around with stamping a bunch of images but don't use them right away, and then I when I'm just fooling around, I like to play with the bits on my table. I guess the scathering of scraps is like a field of dreams. So many possiblities...so many ideas floating around in my head...more dreams of things to come. The stamped image is by Zetti.

Take Time

Having one of those sleepless nights inspired me to do this tag, using pieces on my table just like the previous tag. I like doing that.
With this tag, I was thinking about many of us who don't take time to learn something new or do something very different than our usual fare. What holds us back? I've never tried belly dancing, have you? The stamps are by Hanna Stamps.

Behind the 8 Ball

Playing with the bits on my table I put this little tag together. Don't you just love Zetti stamps?

Tag Tuesday - Sketch

I changed my mind so many times on this tag, but I finally got it together. My biggest problem I get myself into is what colour do I use. I love colour...all colours. Never sure what my favourite colour is. I love doing tags so I love trying the challenge on the Tag Tuesday Blog. Here is my tag for this week. Click

Tag Tuesday - Stickers & Collage

This was fun. Digging through my sticker stash that I haven't touched in quite awhile. Right away the postage stamps and letter stickers, postcard rub ons etc. for this tag just jumped out at me. The jute cord seemed appropriate for this little tag. So this is my tag for Tag Tuesday

Thanks for the encouragement

With so many artists today doing art digitally, I'm falling behind. I have Photoshop Elements but can't figure it out. I can get my photos organized but I haven't figured out how to layer and add backgrounds etc.
I just envy all you computer wizards. I need someone sitting beside me to work with me. Once I can see what's happening on the screen if you push one button or other, then I'm ok. I can pick anything up once I see it. So...excuse my cut, glue and colour.
So thanks for the comments and encouragement.

Flower Power or is it Flour

Laura over at Creative Whisper is so creative when it comes to paper art dolls and is always encouraging me to do them more often. After talking to her yesterday, I thought I would spent the day making these 2 dolls. Doll stamps by Character Construction, legs from ArtChix, flowers from Prima and flower image from seed catalogue. Flower catalogues are hope for spring.

The Art Doll wonders who she is

She looks in the mirror and wonders who she is. She only sees the inner soul not the aging body outside. Made of paper that's all she is, but maybe she represents me as I get older but feel so much younger inside.
Misc. stamps by Character Constructions, flowers by Prima, assorted brads and tulle make up her life.

I love doing tags. We always have a tag swap on the Art For the Creative Mind Yahoogroup. Here is the tag for Tag Tuesday
on Kard Krazy blog
Picture is a collage sheet from ArtChix, unmounted script and column stamp background and German Scrap from ArtChix. Fibers from stash.

TMTA - Metal

Well this challenge was definitely a challenge for me. I worked on this ATC since Monday and only this morning did it come together. I hope you like it. The challenge this week on TMTA is Metal. I used the initials FE because that represents Iron a natural element of metal. I aged some metalic silver paper, used a Tim Holtz frame and a picture of the Effel tower and Germany Scrap from ArtChix, the metal letters from stash.

Snow on the stairs

Growing up in Montreal we didn't worry about snow on the stair, we just ran up and down. I don't remember the stairs being slippery. This picture was probably taken right after a heavy snow fall. When we grew up in Montreal we got alot of snow, everyone had ice rinks in the backyards and most schools had ice rinks too. We enjoyed winter back then, now...not so much although I am a winter person, I don't like the heat.

Collage Obsession - stairs

Here is my entry for Collage Obsession and the theme stairs. These are the stair most commonly seen in Montreal, my hometown. We lived in a house similar to this picture. This picture is a photograph that hangs in my home. The words behind the picture are from a letter written in 1943 from a soldier to his wife.

I found this image in my drawer and thought I would use it. The child stamp is by Cornish Heritage Farms, the lady with the hat and the words are from Graphics 45. Cardstock is Chocolate Chip by SU. Background stamp using scrip and the words behind the image is from Graphics 45 also.
