Dress her up Marie

Made this dress for a swap on Art For the Creative Mind Yahoogroup. We are doing a monthly apparel swap. In January we did Slippers, in February a top hat, and March is the dress fit for Marie Antoinette. I covered some chipboard with pink cardstock by Stampin'Up and stamps flourishes on it, altough you can't really see it. Then I sewed lace and tulle together and layered it on the dress. It was fun to do. I hope my partner likes it.

12 X 12 Canvas #2 For You Mom

I made this one today for my mother. This is a picture of her around 1943. Again I'm using Graphic 45 paper, flowers sprayed with Coffee Glimmer mist, gears by Tim Holtz and Sticklers. Edges with distress with Vintage Photo ink. I hope you like this one.

Graphic 45 Altered Canvas

My first 12 x 12 Altered Canvas using Graphic 45 Steampunk Debutante collection. The canvas was first painted black/brown using acrylic paint. When dried I sprayed it Tattered Angels Glimmer Mist (Gold) in the corners where the paper was torn away. You can't really see it in the picture and with the embellishments. I could have left that out with no change in the look. From there I just went ahead and glued the papers and embellishments down using Gel Medium. I had layed out the canvas in different ways before settling with this one. Once I got started gluing down the first piece for the background..it all just came together. I used the T!m Holtz gear die to cut some gears and distressed them with Vintage Photo and Soot Black. Flowers are from stash and I Glimmer Misted those a little too and added a little Stickles here and there. The pearls are from Stampin'Up and the gears from T!m Holtz. Voila!!

Journal Cover

A friend asked me to make a journal cover for her. She picked out the picture and papers she wanted and I did the rest plus added the embellishments and this is what we came up with. I love the way it turned out...so feminine.

The Mad Hatter or did the Hat go Mad?

This was fun to do using a Top Hat template in black cardstock. Made the mad hatter into a tag and tucked him inside. Embellished the hat with various papers cut outs. This is for another swap.

Back pages of the book

Because the book was accordian folded, I thought I better finish off the back pages. I was going to leave them blank. So I just added some pictures and flowers to it and kept it simple. Since I last posted the front side, I found some lace to add. Just can't leave it along. Tonight I will pick a winner from the group.

The new revisions for the Time Out for Woman Book

I have now finished the book. I gave it a more of a feminine feel to the steampunk look. I hope you like it. It is going to be a gift on the Yahoo Group...Art For the Creative Mind.

The start of book in progress

I started this book without a theme, but now I think I will call it Time out for Women. I need to dress it up some to reflect women.

Book In Progress

There is still some embellishing to do, maybe tags to add or trim.

Atc "Hands of Time"

This is the 2nd atc for the same theme. Time goes so quickly in our lives...once you were a child and then time takes you on a life journey.

ATC "Time on Your hands"

Here is one of two atcs for a swap on Art For the Creative Mind Yahoogroup.

Gothic Arch "Under the Sea"

During the night I realized that I had packed this arch up to be mailed without taking a picture. I seem to do that alot lately and then my poor blogs are neglected. So here is my Gothic Arch titled "Under the Sea". I added all the fish and shells and then layed acetate over the top. Then I glued down the mermaid on a real shell and glued the shell over the acetate. I also added some Glossy Accents for bubbles in the water as well. I hope it makes it's long trip overseas without damage. I had so many ideas rolling around my head I had a hard time choosing which way I was going to proceed, but I think it came together nicely.

Just add a little wax

This is the results of a little class I was at yesterday at The Art House Studio in Kitchener, Ontario. Karen is a fun generous teacher. We had a full day of laughter, sharing and learning. Papers are my Granphics 45 all adhered to the canvas with beeswax, then covered with more beeswax. Beads were added to the middle of the flower. It was fun and a great experience. Thanks Karen for a fun day.

Tall Flowers on Canvas

I'm sorry I haven't been doing the blog challenges. I do have good intentions. lol I have been doing very little, but I did manage to finish this canvas. Used texture paste and acrylic paint these tall flowers. The design is by Bob Pennycook. He does great mixed media art pieces. I just love his designs. But, even though it started out to be Bob's design, I changed it. It is a 12"x48" canvas. I added more flowers and worked the texture a little differently. I can never leave things along. hahaha Hope you like it.
